Meet The Doctor

Erik J. Tallbacka, DMD, FAGD

Dr. Tallbacka attended the University of Florida where he received both his Bachelor’s and Dental degrees. After graduating in 1995, he moved to Stuart, Florida. Dr. Tallbacka is currently a member of the Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, the International Association of Orthodontics, and the American Orthodontic Society. He has also been a member of the American Dental Association, the Treasure Coast Dental Society, the Florida Dental Association, Martin County’s Oral Health Coalition, and the Sailfish Study Club.

In 2007, Dr. Tallbacka received his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, a level of achievement attained by less than 7% of dentists in North America. His focus is on comprehensive dental care, with an emphasis on esthetic dentistry and orthodontics. He enjoys lecturing on the latest in dental technology and techniques to various study clubs and lectures frequently for Martin Memorial Family Affairs. He is an active member of his community, serving in leadership roles for many organizations, and has enjoyed traveling on Medical Mission trips to Central America to provide dental care to impoverished regions.

Much of his free time is spent with his wife, Chris, and his two children, Sadie and Decker. He enjoys fishing, boating, martial arts, and playing hockey.

Amber Valentine

Amber has worked with Dr. Tallbacka since 1998 and has been in dentistry since she was 18. She began working for an orthodontist in Michigan, where she grew up, and moved to Florida in 1993. She loves outdoor activities and enjoys boating, camping, and riding four-wheelers.

Gayle Vaaler, RDH, BS

Gayle Vaaler, RDH, BS

Gayle is one of our hygienists and has been with Dr. Tallbacka since 2004. She graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. Rich “RV” Vaaler and Gayle married in 2013. They both grew up in Virginia and attended college together.

Terry Sobota

Terry has worked with Dr. Tallbacka since 2009 as the patient coordinator. She has been in the dental field for many years. Terry enjoys spending time with her daughter and granddaughter, Bailey, her mini Aussie, and Jett, her parrotlet, who thinks she is a Rottweiler.
Kimberly Rogolino, Dental Assistant, Dr. Tallbacka Dental Office, Stuart, FL

Kimberly Rogolino

Kim has worked with Dr. Tallbacka since 2000. She brings a significant amount of dental and business experience to our office. She works as a dental assistant and helps out at the front desk. Kim grew up in New Jersey and moved to Florida in her late teens. She spends her free time with her husband, daughter, son, and French Bulldogs.
Luli Chapman

Luli Chapman

Amber has worked with Dr. Tallbacka for over 15 years and has been in the field of dentistry since she was eighteen years old. She began working for an orthodontist in Michigan where she grew up. She moved to Florida in 1993. She loves outdoor activities and spends her free time boating, camping, and riding four-wheelers. She has a Siberian Husky named Hobie and a Blue and Gold Macaw named Cosmo.
